About the webcam

The webcam is situated inside the Club Nautico Fornells. The camera is on 24 hours a day and uploads a new image to our server every minute. Sometimes the window gets dirty - send the Club Náutico this email and maybe they'll clean it!

Image information overlay
The timestamp at the top of the image is accurate for local time in Menorca and also shows information about image exposure and the camera's internal temperature (not the ambient temperature).

Why is the image dark?
Well, it could be because it is night time. But the image is also a little darker than it should be to protect the camera's sensor from damage. With the reflection off the water the iris has to be closed to prevent too much light entering the camera. An automatic iris would be ideal but until we get one of those the image will be a little dark at times.
