An open bay with boulders forming the beach, a steep hill on one side and a flat plane (sometimes with a few cows) behind. The impressive scale of the surroundings makes this feel quite a special place. The beach has no sand at all.
Park at the same spot as for Cala Pilar: turn off the main Ferreries-Ciutadella road about 5.5km after Ferreries (or 1/3 of the way up the big hill after the central plane). Keep going until the end where you will find a carpark. Follow the track on foot and before you reach Cala Pilar take one of the paths that fork off to the left. Any of these will eventually lead to Es Macar.
Like Cala Pilar. It is a fair walk to get there.
