Cavalleria tunnel

Getting there:

The cave is on the west side of the Cavalleria lighthouse. There is a slight gulley next to the boundary wall of the lighthouse and the cave entrance is there.

About the spot:

This is a really a tunnel rather than a cave. The entrance is door sized and pitch black but as you feel your way in you start to see light from the other end where it opens up onto the vertical cliff face, about 70m above the sea. The Cavalleria lighthouse is quite impressive anyway and the tunnel adds a bit of extra interest.

Watch out for!:

Unless you are suicidal this spot is safer than it sounds, and the views can actually be quite uplifting!

Watch your hat

I went to the tunnel at Cavalleria on a windy day (I think it was a tramontana wind). The wind hits the face of the cliff full on and turns the cave into a wind tunnel at about 80 mph. you almost can't walk against it.
It's not dangerous, as it's blowing you inland, not out of the tunnel's cliff exit, but if you don't hold onto your hat it's the last you'll ever see of it!
